Longgong, a 5A-level scenic spot with unique karst landforms, boasts vast fields of sunflowers, gentle breezes, flowing streams, warm sunlight, fresh air. With boundless expectations and anticipation, we embarked on the journey to Longgong. The journey was long, but the picturesque scenery along the way made time pass quickly. In less than two hours, we arrived at our destination.
Guided by the beautiful female tour guide, we began our day's itinerary. Entering the scenic area, we passed through the central square and walked into the ancient wooden corridor with a traditional style. A gentle breeze blew, making it very cool. Looking around, we saw people walking slowly on the bridge, the water flowing gently in the stream below, and distant mountains with overlapping peaks and lush trees. It was undoubtedly a beautiful landscape painting. If handsome men and women in ancient costumes walked across the bridge, it would surely have a different charm.
Keep going. On both sides of the stone steps are lush green plants, unnamed flowers, and a sea of green. Ascending the steps, you can see a large red "Shou" character carved on the mountain wall. In the middle of the "Shou" character is a circular "Fu" character. The beautiful sister explained: Starting from the marking point and closing your eyes to walk towards the "Shou" character, whether you touch the middle "Fu" character or the large "Shou" character, there are beautiful meanings. Many people have already been eager to try when being introduced. Some have already closed their eyes and walked forward according to the rules. Those who touched undoubtedly felt excited and elated.
Just as everyone desires to be happy and live a long life, whether it's for themselves, their family members, or their friends. This is merely an inner desire to touch that is triggered in this situation, and it has nothing to do with faith.
After walking along a mountain path, I was completely stunned by what I saw before me. Looking out, it was as if a dragon was opening its wide mouth, with continuous water spurting out from the dragon's mouth, forming a natural waterfall. Although it wasn't as spectacular as the Huangguoshu Waterfall, it still had its own unique features. The tour guide sister introduced that this place was called Longmen Flying Waterfall. Indeed, the place lived up to its name. I couldn't help but marvel at the amazing power of nature. It was inevitable to take photos to commemorate this moment, and I couldn't avoid following the crowd either.
After crossing the Wolong Bridge, you will find a 9-meter-high sightseeing elevator. In fact, just a short while after entering the scenic area, you could already see this building, which is built right next to the mountain wall. The elevator has two floors. The second floor leads to the top of the mountain, and there is no stop along the way.
After that, passing through a long corridor, one arrives at a spacious platform. From this platform, one can either take a boat to enter the Dragon Palace or continue walking upwards for a short distance. There, one can take a break, have some food, and replenish one's energy.
We took a short break and then boarded a boat to enter the Dragon Palace. There were eight people in each boat. I sat at the bow. The damp and cold air rushed towards me, mixed with the unique damp smell of the cave. Although I was wearing a sweater, I still felt a bit chilly. According to my understanding, the water cave of the Dragon Palace is 5,000 meters long. Currently, only 840 meters have been opened, with the widest part being over 30 meters, the narrowest part being only 2 meters, and the highest point being about 80 meters. It is divided into six halls. The Dragon Palace has the longest and most beautiful water cave in the country, and it also has various types of karst landscapes. It is praised by tourists as "a great wonder of nature".
Entering the Dragon Palace, I was amazed to see things far beyond my expectations. Hanging from the ceiling were dozens of stalactites resembling dragons.
These were formed over millions of years, with various patterns created by stone curtains and stone flowers. On both sides of the rock wall and at the top of the tunnel, colorful lights were used for decoration.
The colors were diverse, providing a unique experience. The narrowest part could only accommodate a boat to pass through. The rock walls on both sides were within reach, making this scenery a novelty for me, a girl from the north. Naturally, it was a new experience. The boat moved slowly, allowing me to fully appreciate this wonder created by nature.
After exiting the water cave and entering the dry cave, we continued walking. The ground was a bit slippery. We could see a thin layer of frost covering the rock walls. By blowing a breath, we could see white fog. The stalactites in the dry cave were even more bizarre in shape. Some hung straight down from the ceiling, while others rose up from the ground and interacted with each other. When we looked up from below, it was like an endless abyss that seemed to have no end. While marveling at the amazing power of nature, we couldn't help but admire the greatness of human power. The stone steps beneath our feet were the best evidence of this.
After getting out of the dry cave, one can take the slide to reach the opposite side of the mountain. Along the way, one passes by places such as the Bodhisattva Guanyin, the Guanyin Cave, and Maitreya Buddha. People who believe in Buddhism can buy a piece of incense from the local old lady and offer it as a prayer, hoping for the happiness, health and longevity of their families, friends and themselves. It is also possible.
Put some coins or loose change into the public donation box. I think sincerity is enough; at least that's how I feel.
After leaving the Dragon Palace, after walking for a while, you will arrive at Xuan Tang, which is known as the place where the mountain does not turn but the water does. The pool water rotates continuously in a clockwise direction without the help of wind force, day after day, month after month, year after year.
It can be called a wonder. When you arrive at Xuan Tang, it is noon, with pleasant weather and clear blue sky. The blue water, lush trees, and plants growing from the shore to the water form another world. Although it is not obvious to see the rotation from a physical perspective, such a beautiful scene is also worth seeing.
Take the tourist bus from Xuantang to Taizi Village. Everywhere is covered with peach blossoms. The air is fresh. There are stone bridges, streams, pavilions, and scattered houses.
There are people resting, children playing, couples walking, and tourists observing. I can't help being influenced and feeling happy. I think life here must have been enjoyable later on. After leaving Taizi Village, the day's journey comes to an end. To this day, thinking about all the things in the Dragon Palace, it feels as if it happened just yesterday, and the memories are still vivid.
