Enchanting Longgong, Poetic Guizhou Journey. On October 22nd, the grand cultural and tourism event "2018 First China·Guizhou Longgong Poetry Festival" Recitation Evening and Online Poetry Competition Award Ceremony, hosted by the Guizhou Huangguoshu Tourist Area Management Committee and the Longgong Scenic Area Management Office, and co-organized by the Guizhou Poets Association, Anshun Longgong Tourism Investment Management Co., Ltd., Guizhou Radio and Television Public Channel, and Guizhou Radio and Television Science and Education Health Channel, was grandly held at Longgong, a national-level scenic spot and national 5A-level tourist attraction, which is an exemplary organization in poverty alleviation through tourism.
Witnessing the poetic blooming of Longgong and hearing the true feelings expressed through mountains and rivers. A month ago, nearly a hundred renowned writers and poets from both inside and outside the province gathered at Longgong to attend the launch ceremony of the "2018 First China·Guizhou Longgong Poetry Festival". The poems sang praises to the beautiful landscapes of Guizhou, showcased the mysterious fairyland of Longgong, and narrated the grand cause of poverty alleviation. Bai Gengsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Vice Chairman of the China Writers Association, Li Pei, a renowned cultural scholar, Deputy Secretary-General of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Party Committee's Policy Research Office, Chairman of the Social Sciences Association, and the chief planner of "Poetry Writing Guizhou Poverty Alleviation", Ye Yanbin, Director of the Poetry Committee of the China Writers Association and former Chief Editor of "Poetry Magazine" and "Stars" poetry magazine, Na Ye, member of the All-China Writers Association and winner of the Lu Xun Literary Award, Wang Jiuxin, a renowned poet and the first winner of the Lu Xun Literary Award, Wang Zixiao, editor of the "Earth" supplement of the Literature and Art Department of People's Daily, Rao Xiang, Chief Editor of the Supplement Department of Guangming Daily, Liu Xiaowei, Director of the Literature and Art Department of Liberation Army Daily, Xie Jianping, Director of the Editorial Department of "Poetry Magazine", Jian Ming, President of "Poetry Selection Magazine", Xie Keqiang, Chief Editor of "Chinese Poetry", as well as Li Famo, Chairman of the Guizhou Poets Association, and Xiao Yu, member of the China Writers Association and Chief Editor of "Guizhou Poets", attended the forum on "Poetry Writing Guizhou Poverty Alleviation", engaging in discussions and exchanges on topics such as "Poetry Writing Guizhou Poverty Alleviation", how poetry can deepen "poverty alleviation through cultural and military means", and how the poetry from impoverished areas in the west can make a good voice in poverty alleviation.
Ye Yanbin, a renowned poet and director of the Poetry Committee of the China Writers Association, said that after a century of new poetry, Guizhou poetry has taken a new start through the approach of "literary support for poverty alleviation", presenting a beautiful scene.
The clarion call of "Literary Troops for Poverty Alleviation" has sounded, and poets in Guizhou have bravely taken action. Following the planning and organization of various events such as the "Fragrant Encounter with Tucheng" First Zunyi Female Poets' Poetry Meeting, the Guizhou Children's Poetry Summit Forum, the "Poetic Baiyun · Homesick Baiyun" Poetry Collection Activity, the "Dragon Soars over Huichuan · Poetry Reflects Mountains and Seas" National Poetry Competition, the China Centennial New Poetry Guizhou Summit Forum, the "Meeting in 2020 · National Famous Poets Write about Guizhou's Poverty Alleviation", the series of long poetry and painting collections themed "Poetic Habitat · Towns in Paintings" featuring Guizhou's characteristic towns, and the "Can't Bear to Leave Homesickness from My Heart" series of 20 long poems, the Guizhou Poets Association has once again assembled the "Poverty Alleviation Corps" to station in Longgong, intently experiencing the fiery practice of poverty alleviation, using the power of poetry to cheer and advocate for poverty alleviation, and writing a "new epic" of the "Literary Troops for Poverty Alleviation" cause.
The Dragon Palace Scenic Area, located in Anshun City, Guizhou Province, is one of the first batch of national AAAAA-level tourist attractions. It consists of two major themed areas: the Dragon Pool Mystery and the Tongxuan Countryside. It boasts two Guinness World Records: the largest and most numerous water and dry karst cave group, known as the "Dragon Palace Karst Cave Group," and the lowest natural radiation rate, specifically in the "Guizhou Dragon Palace Scenic Area." Additionally, it features the world's largest plant-based Chinese character landscape, the "Dragon" Field, which has been certified by the world record. It is renowned as "the karst caves of Guizhou are numerous, and the water karst caves are best seen in Dragon Palace," attracting countless admirers from literati and poets. The master of traditional Chinese painting, Liu Haisu, hailed it as "a wonder of the world," while the great poet Ai Qing called Dragon Palace "a great miracle of nature"!
Since its official opening in 1984, the Longgong Scenic Area has been strictly adhering to the regulations and overall planning for scenic areas through infrastructure development, brand building, and service improvement. It has been managed in strict accordance with the standards of national 5A-level scenic spots, resulting in continuously increasing popularity and reputation. Today, the core area of Longgong Scenic Area boasts a forest coverage rate of over 90%. The scenic area features excellent climate, unique landscapes, beautiful environment, and charming villages. Shaped by karst topography, the entire area presents a dreamy combination of mountains, forests, water, and caves, and has developed into a domestic first-class scenic spot with an annual reception capacity of nearly one million people.
To poetically showcase the Dragon Palace scenic area, a fairyland on earth, the "2018 First China Guizhou Dragon Palace Online Poetry Competition" was concurrently launched, soliciting works that depict the magical beauty of Dragon Palace, eulogize its natural charm, and possess spiritual depth, cultural connotation, and artistic value. A total of 2,836 submissions were received from authors, all of which were evaluated anonymously and numbered. Among them, Yang Feimu from Ningxia won the first prize with his poem "Dragon Palace (Group of Poems)"; Wang Fugang from Shandong won the second prize with his poem "Dragon Palace, or Travel Folding", and Feng He from Zhejiang won the second prize with his poem "Dragon Palace, Encounter or Intoxicated Chant (Group of Poems)"; Guizhou-based author Luo Long, Shanxi-based author Wang Zhiyan, Hebei-based author Yang Wanning, Sichuan-based author Zhong Zhihong, Heilongjiang-based author Liang Zi, and Guangxi-based author Wang Dong were awarded the third prize. Tang Yaping, director of the Dragon Palace Online Poetry Competition jury, vice chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Literature and Art Publishing House, and vice chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Writers Association; Li Jidang, competition judge, vice chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Writers Association, and chief editor of the literary monthly magazine "Mountain Flowers"; Zhao Weifeng, competition judge and renowned poet and poetry critic; and He Xianbin, competition judge and deputy director of the Social Affairs Management Bureau of Huangguoshu Tourism Area, attended the award ceremony. Yang Feimu, Wang Fugang, Yang Wanning, and Luo Long, representatives of the first, second, and third prize winners, were invited to participate.
In October, the Dragon Palace was the setting for a boat-themed poetry recital, marking the moonlit autumn of poverty alleviation. At the poetry recital evening, renowned Guizhou-based reciters such as Zhou Jin, Yu Zhongjun, Nie Yun, Dai Qing, Li Xiaomei, and Chen Xi recited poems by Na Ye, including "Boating through the Dragon Palace Cave", Wang Jiuxin's "Ode to the Dragon Palace", Li Famo's "Dragon Palace: The Inner Mysterious World of the Dragon Clan", Tang Yaping's "Waterfall and Cave", Yang Feimu's "Dragon Palace (Excerpts from a Series of Poems)", Feng He's "Dragon Palace, Encounter or Intoxicated Ode (Excerpts from a Series of Poems)", Yang Wanning's "Waiting for an Encounter with My Whole Life in Anshun Dragon Palace (Excerpts from a Series of Poems)", Xiao Yu's "Dragon Palace, the Self I Have Given Away (Excerpts from a Series of Poems)", Guo Sisi's "Experiencing Fantasy in the Dragon Palace (Excerpts from a Series of Poems)", and Zheng Jiguo's "Legend of the Dragon Palace (Excerpts from a Series of Poems)".
