The Origin of Teachers' Day

Respecting teachers and valuing education is a traditional Chinese practice. As early as the 11th century BC during the Western Zhou Dynasty, it was proposed that "students should respect their teachers as they would respect their fathers." Teachers' Day is intended to recognize the contributions made by teachers to the education sector. In 1985, the 9th meeting of the 6th National People's Congress Standing Committee passed the proposal of the State Council to establish Teachers' Day. The meeting decided to designate September 10th of each year as Teachers' Day. On September 10th, 1985, it was the first Teachers' Day in China.

Some things that the students must have done

The number of the teacher's verbal remarks in each class

The note passed from the other end of the classroom

The cheat sheet written on the desk during the exam

The snacks that one has to eat even when not hungry during class

Some of these statements you must have heard:

"Your class is the one with the poorest academic performance that I have ever taught."

"The entire school building is the noisiest in our class."

"This class period, the PE teacher is unavailable. I will be substituting for him."

"I will only take up two minutes of your time."

Those years of stern teachings from our teachers, now we still remember them so vividly.

In fact, it was only later that we understood that

The teacher who often lay exhausted at her desk and slept there

Desired more than anyone else that we could succeed

Teachers' Day is approaching. Should we send a blessing, say "Happy Teachers' Day" and express our gratitude to those teachers who have taught us before?

September 10, 2016 is coming!

Have the students started preparing gifts?

Or is the whole class discussing buying gifts together?

No matter how you prepare, the Dragon Palace has already prepared the gifts.
