In traditional Chinese symbolism, the dragon holds a special significance. We often consider ourselves descendants of the dragon. Living in the land of the dragon, one naturally has an extraordinary yearning and devout worship for the dragon. To experience the legendary life of a dragon, if you are on the Chinese land, hurry to Anshun Dragon Palace to embark on a dreamlike journey - the Dream Dragon Palace.

As April arrived, I was fortunate enough to travel with my classmates under the guidance of "Liu哥" from Ctrip. We set off on a journey to Dragon Palace, eager to witness the magnificent "underground Lijiang River" there and experience all the fun. Dragon Palace is located in Anshun City, 27 kilometers away from the city center. It is mainly composed of spectacular karst caves, cave waterfalls, and dry karst caves, along with beautiful rural scenery, rugged mountain peaks, bamboo groves surrounded by rocks, and rich ethnic customs. As a national-level scenic spot, Dragon Palace covers an area of approximately 60 square kilometers, including four major scenic areas: the Central Scenic Area, Xuan Tang Scenic Area, Rapeseed River Scenic Area, and Xian Sheng Jing Scenic Area. Among them, the Rapeseed River Scenic Area has a flat terrain, lush green fields, fragrant rice fields, clear streams winding and meandering, and along the way, the experience was quite profound. On both sides of the road were rapeseed fields, and during this season, farmers were busy harvesting rapeseed. It is said that during the Rapeseed Festival, it would be truly breathtaking. I felt as if I were right there, surrounded by a sea of flowers. Unfortunately, I missed that wonderful opportunity. However, the unchanged features remained: flat plains, slate-roofed houses, distant mountains, which were almost purely stone mountains, and there were hardly any trees. Passing through successive mountain ranges, we finally arrived at the Central Scenic Area of Dragon Palace. It is truly "hidden in the depths and unknown to the world". Among the surrounding mountain ranges, it has its own unique charm. It is known as the largest "karst museum" discovered in China, featuring both water and dry caves, integrating caves, waterfalls, canyons, peak clusters, cliffs, and streams. It has primitive and dense forests, numerous birds, fresh air, and ancient ethnic customs. It has various forms of karst landforms, towering cliffs, and craggy stone forests.

The first thing that catches your eye in the center scenic area of the Dragon Palace is the two large characters inscribed by Mr. Qiu Guo. As you enter through the gate, there is a built stage with a colorful dragon on it. Whenever a tourist sits down to watch from the audience area, that dragon will be danced by more than ten strong men dressed in red. It seems as if a real dragon has appeared and is soaring and surging, with that kind of power being unique to the descendants of the dragon. The people of the Dragon Palace welcome the tourists from afar in their own special way. Continuing on, soon you will arrive at the Heavenly Pool and the Viewpoint Platform. It is the largest karst cave waterfall in China. Looking down from above, it seems like a bottomless abyss. Right opposite the waterfall is the couple-shaped long dragon across the lake, like a rainbow lying on the water, with a magnificent and vivid appearance. It allows people to feel the totem of the dragon and the spirit of the dragon.

It is said that that place is actually the Linglong Lake, which has become the best scenic spot for tourists to take photos and take pictures, and can also be regarded as the landmark building of the Dragon Palace. If you don't stop and pay homage at the Dragon Palace, it would be a great pity. The Heavenly Pool of the Dragon Palace has an average depth of 31 meters, with clear green water. The surrounding cliffs are steep. By boat from the Heavenly Pool to the water cave, it is another world. Along the dark river, there are 6 halls and 5 layers of cave chambers, all on the water. The stalactites are dazzling and diverse. There are deep gullies and dangerous cliffs all around. The groundwater sometimes hangs upside down and sometimes spurts out. The main cave is narrow and uneven, with the widest part being about 50 meters. The narrowest part requires one to avoid the rocks above and on both sides at the same time. Many dark-colored colored lights are placed on the rock walls, adding a lot of mysterious beauty. It forms a picture of a peaceful and delightful fairyland in the human world. It feels like you are swimming in the picture, and you can relax your mind and listen attentively to the introduction given by the tour guide. How pleasant and satisfying it is! How delightful it is! The total length of the known caves is 15,000 meters. Walking along the pool, it seems to enter a wonderful world like a fairy tale. The stalactites in the cave are hanging, and the cave walls are full of strange rocks. It is truly astonishing. If you are still in the mood after the tour, you can visit the Dragon Palace again to experience a different mood.

The water in Tianchi flows out through a cave opening, forming a huge underground waterfall with a drop of 37 meters. It is magnificent and truly spectacular. Above the water cave, there is a natural dry cave. You can't help but marvel at the divine craftsmanship of nature towards this magical land. The Longguan Scenic Area is renowned for its beauty and grandeur. Especially, the central scenic area, the water cave, is the longest in the country, with the highest waterfall, the lowest natural radiation rate, and is called the "three greatest" in China by experts and tourists. Entering the Longguan Scenic Area is like entering an earthly fairyland or a secluded paradise, making people reluctant to leave.

Before we knew it, we had arrived at the Tiger Cave. The name itself gave us a rather creepy feeling. However, "Without entering the tiger's den, one cannot catch the tiger cub." So we entered the cave. Fortunately, there was a warm-hearted tour guide who introduced us and sang mountain songs for free, which made us not feel any fear during this trip. Once inside the cave, we realized that it was in the shape of a large "U". When we entered, the slope was relatively gentle, but at the exit, it was a steeper stone staircase, as if it was wrapped around the cave walls. Fortunately, there were railings for support, so we didn't feel afraid. But our hearts still felt a bit creepy. However, when we came out of the cave, we still felt that it was not a waste of this trip. The strange stalactites in the cave gave a feeling of hanging in the sky and soaring like clouds, which made us feel relaxed and refreshed. If the colored light switch was turned on, the cave would be golden and dazzling, with brilliant and dazzling light. Going up the stone steps beside the Tiger Cave was the Group of Flowers Valley, and further up was the Fish and Dragon Pass.

The exit of the rear cave of the Dragon Palace leads to the Xuan Tang scenic area, which is known as a "paradise beyond the world". There are rural landscapes, peak clusters, karst caves, streams and rivers, etc. It got its name because a 120-meter-diameter pond rotates clockwise for 360 degrees, thus earning its name. The scenic area covers an area of 8 square kilometers and is located in a closed karst basin, isolated from the outside world. This scenic area features special scenery composed of the rural mountains and fields, the Manchu-style villages, and natural landscapes. It mainly includes attractions such as the waterfall of the swirling pond, Tong Xuan River, Dream Spring, the winding bamboo path, Stone Forest, and Guanyin Cave. Additionally, in the Stone Interest Garden of the Dragon Palace, you can also experience an exceptionally rich cultural atmosphere. If you have a fondness for traditional Chinese art - calligraphy, you will see some tourists and famous calligraphers' calligraphy steles on both sides of the road, such as "Thought Not Far Away", "Dream Travel", "Wonders of the World", etc. with their inscriptions.

The Dragon Palace has numerous attractions, but with the limited time, it was impossible to see all of them at once. As the saying goes, "Half of the flowers are beautiful when they are just in bloom, and half of the wine is enjoyable when it is just slightly intoxicating." We leave behind a bit of mystery and beauty, along with some thoughts and reveries. We hope to have the opportunity to visit the Dragon Palace again in the future and relive its immortal soul and ageless arms.

Finally, we would like to thank Ctrip for giving us this opportunity to read about the thousand-year-old myth of "Dreaming of the Dragon Palace", and we were amazed by the beauty of the Anshun Dragon Palace.
